Always stop here when in town and the food is phenomenal. It's been consistently delicious throughout my entire life. My favorite is the roger's pizza or broasted chicken with a 1919 root bear for dessert 3.

We picked Carl's at random from the map & what a pick it turned out to be. The food was delicious, generously portioned that left you full without feeling stuffed. There was something about the pizza sauce that made me want to take a gallon of it home! I had the fish filet sandwich, hubby had the pizza, kids did the spaghetti and meatballs. We also munched on a plate of fries that were simple, yet the best we've had in a long time. The staff were also very friendly & incredibly helpful. Definitely going to be making a stop the next time we're in the area.

Carl's corner has been a milestone in my hometown area for over 50 years. My mother worked there in about 1969, and they had the best chicken and pizza I'd ever tasted. I just had chicken there on Saturday Oct 26, 2022, and it was still the best chicken I've ever tasted! My cousin had pizza and said it was Delicious as well! Prices are very reasonable, portions are very generous, and our server was smiling and friendly. So, if you find ourself on the highway between New Ulm and Sleepy Eye MN, do yourself a favor and stop in for lunch or dinner and a beverage! It's well worth the stop!

Was working in New Ulm and Carl's was recommended. I have to say that as a Southern man that Carl's broasted chicken was perfect. From the crispyness of the skin to the seasons that ran all the way through the meat. Paired it with their made in house vinegar cole slaw. Im a huge cole slaw fan and this is definitely in my top 2 for this style slaw. I can taste why Carl's is all the hype...this place delivers. Great Job to the staff and owners. I will be back and it'll be a repeat performance for me for sure.

Still the best chicken around and always friendly workers even though I know I don’t look like most of the customers coming through. They are always great, always pleasant, place is always clean. And the place is rly old school classy. Not many establishments left like this one. Highly recommended by me.

We had burgers to go, delicious ! Great price! Burger was bigger than bun! He also got a half a chicken to go for tomorrow , had 2 drinks each, less than 45 bucks for everything! Best place to go!

First and foremost, this is not fried chicken. It's broasted. If you barge into the place claiming that you heard they have the best fried chicken like I did, they're going to tell you 'no' and that they have broasted chicken. My ears heard roasted, and I thought to myself, 'that can't be right' but after researching I have learned about broasting:"Broasting is a special cooking process that combines pressure frying and traditional shallow frying to produce juicy chunks of fried chicken with a crispy outer layer."With that said, it looks and feels similar to frying. The definition of broasting includes a description on a variation of frying... but it is not fried chicken. I post this here as a jest to the owners/staff in all friendliness and an extended discussion we had with our friends about the topic.Semantics aside, it's really good. Mind you that smaller pieces may seem overcooked but the larger pieces will retain their juiciness. So don't judge your experience if you choose only small pieces. The establishment is a standalone building just off the highway in the town of Essig and is so good we drove from New Ulm just to get it. The staff and even the patrons there are super friendly and there is a good amount of seating in the main and rear section of the restaurant. Clean and well maintained, the atmosphere is casual and friendly. Although seemingly out of the way for eats relative to our stay in New Ulm, it is worth the travel.

The pizza very well may be top 3 I’ve had in my life. The crust was absolutely incredible, flaky, crunchy, and airy. The sauce was great. It was cooked to perfection. So glad I stopped here.
